A Microsoft Man to Lead Nokia

Nokia is undoubtedly the largest mobile phone manufacture in the world and I would say it's the best. My previous post was about how a normal phone survived a dip in a pool. Definitely Nokia hardware is superb but their management hasn't been good.

Stephen Elop, ex Microsoft business division leader is the new big-boss in Nokia. He has also worked in companies Adobe, Macromedia and Juniper. His challenge would be managing Nokia (a massive company) throughout the disruption caused by continuously changing technology environment.

There is also possibility for a much stronger Microsoft and other related partnerships with Nokia. My interest is to see Nokia phones coming out with Windows Phone 7, the best ever mobile operating system I have seen. It benefits Nokia as well. By adopting Microsoft (.Net) Nokia would enlarge its developer base tremendously. If they adopt Windows Phone 7, it would even be better.

If there is .Net in Nokia, there won't be any one happier than me because Nokia and Microsoft are the 2 top ranking it-brands in my life.

Let's see what is to happen. Let's hope Elop would be able to raise Nokia from the ashes.
